The previous engines were replaced in 2006 and the vessel now has 2 John Deere Powertech 6068 TFM. The vessel also had an Onan 13.5kw generator which is more than adequate for the 4 fridges, coffee machine,sound systems and other electrical appliances that are onboard.

A passenger boat that offers excellent value for money and would be the ideal investment for any passenger boat business, Dame Shirley (Formerly Dorset Belle) is an 80' purpose built steel passenger boat originally operating between Poole/Bournemouth Pier/Swanage until 2011 where she was acquired by her present owner and now operating in Cardiff Bay and the Bristol Channel.
This vessel was the first of three built with Schottel azipods (props rotate 360 vertically) which make her very manoeuvrable and brilliant for coming alongside and holding position at Piers or tidal moorings, the propulsion units have been completely overhauled this year at a cost of £65,000 alone! The inside benefits from a spacious heated saloon with dance floor, toilets and bar and of course there is seating throughout and has benefited from having much time and money invested in the boat over the years. As a result, the boat is offered for sale today with both MCA Class V and Class VI certification to allow the boat to carry 200 passengers. Unlike most passenger boats however, this boat comes complete with a glass roof giving superb panoramic views and helps give a bright and airy atmosphere to the boat.
