Deck Equipment
Stainless steel (s/s), tubular section, rails are fitted from 'right forward' to the stern of the vessel. The 'boarding locations' are by the opening of amidships sections located to both Port & Starboard. Matching rails provide an 'arch' above the aft helm, carrying scanner and aerials for the navigation equipment and navigation lights. Forward, the Fore-deck is fitted with a centre-line manual windlass for lowering/raising the anchor, together with two substantial stainless steel 'bollards' for mooring warps use. A total of six of these bollards are located around the vessel at deck level, providing choice of berthing/mooring situations. Stainless steel davits and boarding ladder are fitted at the stern. The CQR anchor, chain and warp are drawn up over the stemhead fitting to the manual windlass. Under-way, the cable (35 mtrs chain) is lowered into a flush-deck locker forward on the Fore-deck , with flush covering hatch. The craft also has a good number of fenders and fairleads for mooring lines, to both Port & Starboard, together with substantial D-section fendering all round at the gunwhale.

Additional Information:

The Aquastar range of craft are well known for their build quality and excellent 'sea keeping'. This AQUASTAR Ocean Ranger 33 is an excellent example, fitted with twin Volvo Penta TMD40B engines. (see Mechanical Section). The Wheelhouse/Deck Saloon has the helm to Port - adjacent to a sliding door to the side deck. To Starboard is the chart table, with a matching sliding door to the side-deck. The Wheelhouse also has the access to the forward accommodation. A few steps lead to the Galley (to Stbd), opposite is the forward Heads and forward again is the Forecabin with a double berth and lockering. The aft accommodation also has a Heads, a double berth and hanging spaces. This craft is considered ideal for family cruising. (see Lay-out diagram)

Accommodation:

Entry to the Wheelhouse and accommodation is by doors set amidships (P & S) from the working deck. The Port-hand raised helm seat position for the Skipper gives control of direction, engine speed and use of the listed navigation units. All are to hand as is the electric switch panel. A second helm position is located externally on the raised bridge deck aft. Aft of the Wheelhouse helm is an L-shaped seating arrangement, with a table which can be raised or set at a lower level. A matching table is set in front of a similar seat - although shorter and in straight line - set against the Port side panel. Generous sized windows forward and to P & S. Forward of the Wheelhouse - at the lower level - is the Galley comprising a stainless steel work-top with built-in 2-burner gas hob, grill & oven, with inset micro-wave in the fittings above. A s/s round sink provides water for 'washing up, etc. Cutlery, crockery utensils etc. are found in the drawers within the structure and an Electrolux 'fridge is 'flush mounted' in the 'back fitting'.. Beyond the Galley is the Forward Cabin which has an 'island' double berth (with storage lockers beneath) and lockering. Adjacent is enclosed Heads compartment to Port with toilet, hand-basin and shower facility. The cabin has lighting and a deck-head hatch with glazed elements. This hatch allows light, ventilation and an emergency escape facility. Returning to the Wheelhouse, access to the 'Owner's Aft Cabin' is by a Stbd companionway leading to this cabin which offers a double berth, storage lockers, full length wardrobe and an enclosed en-suite Heads with toil et, hand basin & shower facility (see lay-out drawing). In all, the boat's accommodation provides for 4 persons - plus two further berths in the Wheelhouse by use of the cushions set on the bench seating. The hot water system is by use o f the engine coolant heat-exchanger system with a 'plumbed in' Calorifier (heat exchanger). Additionally, radiators are fitted in this system, providing warmth throughout the vessel, when required.
