The MARINER 8hp outboard has separate 5 glns fuel (petrol) tank. The unit is fitted to reinforced integral bulkhead aft of Cockpit and has a heavy-duty cover, reducing noise, etc. It is a manual, 'pull-to-start' unit.

Electrical Equipment
The electric fused/switch panel, with named circuits, is located directly ahead of the chart-table. (See Accommodation) There is a single 12v battery supply. Charged by external mains battery charger (not included in the inventory of the vessel) with local 240vAC hook-up.

Deck Equipment
Round-section stainless steel Pulpit and Pushpit with single guard wire running through stanchions to both Port and Stbd. Solid hardwood hand-holds run fore and aft, both sides of the coach-roof. Stainless steel fore-deck fitting for anchor, chain and warp to come over the bow. A flush GRP deck locker is right forward for anchor stowage. Cast aluminium cleats for mooring lines, fore & aft.

Sails and Rig
The fractional rig comprises anodised main mast and boom, stainless steel standing rigging and Terylene type running rigging. All lines come aft to manual winches and jammers at the Cockpit, by use of side-deck travellers fitted for Forsail sheets. The Main sheets are also brought to a short traveller and 'jammer block' at the accommodation entry. Sails include: Foresail (10.76 sq mtr) Main sail (12.70 sq mtr)

Designed by Michel Dufour and built by Dufour Yachts, France, the 1800 has a full-bodied hull topped by a well faired superstructure, providing generous accommodation in a simple, but very practical form. Her fractional rig provides for easy handling with a good performance and 'adjustability'. This craft had a professional osmosis treatment to the hull in 2005/06 during which period a major re-fit was undertaken including re-placement of standing and running rigging, chain plate work and bilge pump skin outlet replacement and lifelines renewed. The craft continues to benefit from these investments. Recent improvements (2014) include: Replacement windows in the main saloon, repainting, compounding and polishing hull and upper works, general improvements with new style lines, etc.. You will not be disappointed at this price!"

Accommodation:
From FWD: FORECABIN with two single berths in V-form with infill providing a good sized double berth. Some stowage space under the berths. The berths and the infill have custom -made 'signature' covers (Dufour symbol). A glazed fore-hatch is fitted toward the aft end of the cabin and where the head-room increases. This hatch provides light, ventilation and an alternative exit. Aft - to Stbd is a work-top and hand-basin with cold water feed by use of foot pump. Space to side and below for personal items. Opposite, is the Heads with sea toilet, flushed by use of sea-water and with manual pump out/flush. Aft - through structural bulkhead, with mahogany veneer and sliding solid door - is the MAIN CABIN. Bench seating/ berths set to each side, again with 'signature' covered cushions. Generous stowage under each. Aft, set to the sides of the companionway leading to the Cockpit, is the Galley to Port and a chart table to Stbd. The Galley is minimal with a sink with cold water feed, a cold box and a recessed space for a single gas ring. The current owner has not use the vessel for passage-making and therefore has only required basic units. It would be quite possible to fit a more sophisticated assembly if required. There is a movable table which can be located in alternative positions - in the cabin between the bench seating, as well as in the Cockpit. The chart-table, again, is basic but a useful desk-top for chart work and stowage within. The seating to Port extends aft under this area and offers a 5th berth. Up to the Cockpit with conventional integral bench seating each side. New wash-boards have been made ensuring security whilst unattended, as well as an improved Cockpit/accommodation access. At the same time the structure for the engine has been re-built giving more access, etc. together with a 'heavy duty' cover over the outboard engine. The unit remains as original and has the 'pull cord to start' to hand.
