EAST COAST FIFIE
This boat was built on the East Coast of Scotland in 1911 and moved at some point to the Hebrides. Clinker built it retains the original rig although an engine was fitted in the 1930s.
It was worked as a fishing boat, and as a ferry, before latterly being used for pleasure.
It is complete and original as far as I can tell. It has a mast and dipping lugsail. Also comes with engine, anchor, oars, boathook, some chain and some spares.
It is currently under cover in a shed in Eyemouth awaiting restoration. The paint has been stripped to assess the state of the hull. Three planks need to be replaced and the keel needs to be looked at. Other work to be determined although generally sound, so I have been told by experienced people. The work required should not be underestimated. Note that the pale blue paint has been scraped from the hull and this is shown in a number of photographs (Paint off...).
Last in the water around eight years ago and stored ashore and under cover since then; in the Hebrides till last year, and in Eyemouth since last December.
Please note that the history etc is word of mouth.
Also consider that the number of such boats, still in largely original condition, from that era that still exist, may be counted on the fingers with some left over.
This represents an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual or organisation to acquire a piece of Scottish history. Restored to traditional fishing boat livery (see Reaper) it would look just the job at any regatta.
Good home preferred.
Note that measurements are approximate. Please look at the photos.
The asking price is negotiable.
Contact by email preferred, although I am happy to discuss with potential buyers and viewing can be arranged. .

DO NOT SEND MONEY TO SELLERS YOU CANNOT VERIFY AS GENUINE.

If possible, travel to view the boat or equipment yourself and only buy once you are happy with it.
