Seafish issues safety advice for potting sector

Seafish, the authority on seafood, announced today that it has produced an Industry Advisory Note on potting safety to provide guidance on safe practices.
The note includes suggestions for reducing the risk of hazards and accidents along with sources for further information.
Jon Lansley, Training Advisor at Seafish, said: "We hope that this paper will encourage fishermen to consider carefully the way they operate and adopt safer methods where possible. Ultimately, our aim is to reduce the higher than average man overboard fatality rate in this sector."
