Additional Information:

Optimist is up for sale as my replacement vessel has arrived...I decided to go back to twin screw.
Optimist was purchased in Dec 2019 and coded with SCMS February 6th 2020 after an extensive defect repair period. It then sat unused due to Covid-19 and then started work only to have to go back into the maintenance shed in july 2020 until May 2021 . This time she had new railings fitted plus other jobs done such as partial new deck and access hatches fitted so that the surveyor could access all void spaces but more importantly a new twindisc gearbox (max rating 3500rpm),4 new engine feet and risers ,a new 2.5" shaft, new stern gland, whole new rudder stock and a new throttle sensor(£625 !!) and new full length of exhaust hose fitted and reducer removed. The propellor had its pitch reduced to 15" and a stern gate was fitted. In August 2021,the technician had to attend with the laptop to clear a fault on the EMS. At that time,Injector 2 was changed,M-Prop valve was changed, common rail valve was changed and common rail sensor was changed as well as all tensioning pulleys and belts on engine block front face and a new morse control....its all new under the bonnet except the engine block and computer!
New starter motor fitted April 2022
With most of the fishing taking place at anchor,Optimist has done very few hours over the past 3 years.

Tech Spec:
vessel weight (2 full tanks) 5.8t (as registered on the crane lift at Torquay)
Iveco Marine commercial engine 400hp (+ turbo) max 3200 rpm linked to 2.5" stainless steel shaft and 22"(dia) x 17.5" (pitch) 5 blade propeller
@ 2000rpm (2 full tanks) 10-12kts
@ 2500rpm (2 full tanks) 12-14kts
@ 3100rpm (2 full tanks) 19.8kts

The blade was initially 22 x 17.5 created after testing by C&O engineering (Newton Abbott) and then reduced to 22x15 which was an ill advised move that failed to increase performance. The propeller was then returned to 22x17.5 and I spoke with C&O who checked their invoices and records and stated that this is where it needs to be,optimum arrangement has been set.
This vessel has(through research) very nearly a tri-hedral hull and handles the weather well.Windscreen wipers are fitted but all but redundant as the waves pass under the hull and not over the bow.Theres hardly any slamming.
I am continuing to trade at Portpatrick and to that end,the Lorenz chart plotter and 19" monitor will be removed as they contain all my marks!
Optimist is afloat at Portpatrick Harbour (satnav DG98AN) and will be available for seatrials and inspections from 18th June.
There are 2 bunks with mattresses in the forward compartment
There is a manually operated jabsco toilet in a cubicle on the weather deck
All gear except fire extinguishers will be removed including liferaft and HRU
Last photo shows stainless steel frame and supports which allows the canopy to be extended. The canvas extension piece was old and cracked when the boat was purchased by me in 2019 and was removed but as shown, the frame was retained.
