In July 2014 the twin Perkins 6.3544 (Range 4) engines and gearboxes (1.53:1 ratio) were removed. Twin IVECO 320hp units (built 2004) are currently being installed (Sept/October) - complete with re-built cylinder blocks. Additionally, replacement ZF gearboxes (rebuilt 2014) have also been fitted. These replacement engines and gearboxes drive conventional stainless steel shafts, with new drive-shaft couplings and R&D's. New 3-bladed propellers also fitted - with a spare set available. The craft is currently ashore close to the Broker.
Fuel capacity: approx. 180 glns/815 ltrs in two stn/stl tanks.
Fresh Water: approx. 100 glns/450 ltrs in one stn/stl tank.

Electrical Equipment
A 24-volt system comprising 4 x 12v batteries charged by engine alternators, supported by shore power connection and a 6 Kva GM Power Plant Genset (serviced 2012). The shorepower (240vAC) hook-up is fitted for domestic use serving Galley installations and aa AC ring main. Circuits are with a dedicated CB panel mounted in the lower area.

Additional Information:

"The Lochin 33 GDSV (General Duty Service Vessel) design was developed alongside the RNLI 'Brede Cl ass' Lifeboats and shares many of the build characteristics. Originally supplied to the Fisheries Authority operating under MCA Code Cat 2 (60 nms from Safe Haven). She continues under Cat. 2 Code -ing today even so for leisure pursuits. The current ownership has made many improvements, both cosmetic and mechanical. Recently, a hull and superstructure re-paint, and a 'Copper-coat' hull application . Further up-date has included: the installation of two IVECO 320hp engines and ZF gearboxes . See 'Mechanical' in this presentation. Lying close to the Broker.

Accommodation:
From Aft - the entire gunwhale level deck provides a flush, secure area, with the same level continuing to the side decks going forward. A central hatch in the aft deck provides access to the tiller flat spaces and tanks. Central aft door gives access to the WHEELHOUSE/DECK SALOON where bench seating provide (P&S) stowage spaces behind and under, as well as full length berths. A demountable table is set to port. The helm console is to Port with engine controls, gauges and auxiliary switching to hand. The helmsman and navigator are provided each with KAB suspension seating giving excellent viewing. The Starboard navigation area is given to electronic installations as listed (See Navigation). Central access below to: GALLEY (P) - including sink unit with pressurised H&C water, microwave (240v) and kettle point. Ample stowage for cooking utensils, etc.. HEADS / SHOWER COMPARTMENT with electric toilet (2 011), hand basin and H&C combined shower fitting. The FORWARD ACCOMMODATION comprises a convertible double berth arrangement with shelving above, anchor locker and emergency hatch to fore-deck. Additional stowage is provided below the berths. A number of fixed ports are in the Galley and Heads spaces.



Deck Equipment
Stainless steel 'Pilot' rails (painted black matt fwd) run aft from the Fore-deck to the forward part of the wheelhouse structure, where they are fitted inboard (to the Wheelhouse). Matching rails (not painted) are fitted around the after aft deck area, providing a secure area for deck operations. The deck surfaces are 'non-slip' coated throughout. Anchoring arrangements include:
- Fore-deck mounted Lewmar 1000W electric windlass (console and fore-deck foot controlled)
- Bruce type anchor guided to and secured at stem fitting
- Anchor chain (new in 2009) - length un-known but understood to be appropriate.
- Mooring warps & fenders (baskets to Fore and Aft deck rails)
- Substantial s/s (stainless steel) fore-deck mooring bollard, fairleads and cleats.
- Heavy duty fendering to upper and lower strakes with inter-straking on the after quarters.
- Stainless steel mast is fitted atop the wheelhouse carrying navigation lights, navigation equipment antenna and yards for pennants, etc.
