This vessel has been used for cockle dredging in the Wash and the Thames cockle fishery in its time, it has been used as a brown shrimp vessel for long periods and is now mainly used in the hand-working cockle fishery in the Wash, the vessel does sit upright on the sand to enable the use of the hiab when loading the vessel on the sand top. The main engine is a Gardner 180hp, with the auxiliary engine being a 6-cylinder Perkins. this vessel can carry 8 tons of cockles in the hold. some other equipment may be available,MCA is valid until 2026 Vessel was lifted out of the water in Oct 2022 and had a full paint up and the hull steel thickness tested, and all was still 6.8mm as built, with a 12mm heel plates, don't let the age of the vessel put you off, the steel is still very good....
