The HALMATIC 48/50 provided the backbone of the pilotage fleet in the UK for many years produced by the famous VT Halmatic yard in Portsmouth. Constructed specifically for the arduous task of pilotage, constantly 'rubbing shoulders' with large unforgiving ships, they have stood the test of time and still offer all the essential characteristics necessary to operate professionally in whatever sea conditions prevail. There is barely a commercial maritime application these vessels have not mastered and continue to do so because they were built uncompromisingly for longevity.
