Additional Information:

Challenge has undergone some major works in the last two years, sadly now family priorities mean she has to be sold.

H2, an unusual and great registered number.

She is an ex survey vessel, very stable and around 16.5 tons in weight. Built for the open sea.

Large rear deck are big enough for at least 8 people to fish comfortably or install additional seating/ canopy etc.

Since coming out onto the hard in September 2020 she has been extensively painted and repaired inside and out with lots of rust being removed and all major repairs being completed.

She had a new class 3 ticket put on her in 2017 when several plates were replaced, this has now expired as I had no intention of using her commercially. She had been neglected so some major repairs and upgrades have been completed including a new MaxPower CT100 bow thruster installed to improve manouvrebility at low speed. The old leaking wheelhouse was demolished and a new one constructed to the full width of the vessel was built to allow space for a seating area which converts to a double bed, a shower/toilet and small galley area with Neptune 4500 cooker.

The windows had rotted out so the entire front section was cut out and replaced with new steel and seals. No minor operation in itself. We've also repaired another area below the steering arm which required attention. The engine has been out, bilges cleaned, degreased and painted, sump pan repaired as it was perforated, new fuel lines, new filters etc fitted. The engine runs and pumps water, gears forward and reverse all operational. There is a fire surpression extinguisher system above the engine.

Hydraulic steering pipes replaced and the old hydraulic oil tank removed from a central hold area which has been insulated and boarded out for a storage and batteries etc. There are two main batteries plus another 4 new ones that have not yet been connected. New exhaust (lagged) replacing the one that was rotted out when I got her.

A power controller (much like a camper van) was installed that also has a built in charger regulates the shore power. There is a new Dometic 3 way fridge, a new gas water heater, fresh water tank, toilet and sea cocks fitted, cooker all with a view to making her a live aboard or at least comfortable for long weekends. Several new bilge pumps have been fitted and a new manual gusher pump installed with hose etc. There is also a commercial 8 man Solas liferaft which was recertified and refurbished entirely at the end of last year.

The bow section has two "pods" for additional quarters plus a small seating area as it was originally just used as storage. A sonar array was removed, cut short and sealed off to make better use of the space.

She has a Furuno radar, VHF, Plotter which were all operational when removed for the works.

There are bits and pieces that need finishing but she could go back into the water tomorrow and be used. She's had a fresh topcoat, (Whitbread Blue), everything has already had multiple coats of epoxy primer, she's been antifouled and has had one or two coats of hi-build around the rear inside walls. Most of the cabin now painted, just a few trims and bits to finish.

There are two anchors (with chain) a Delta 25kG ad a 15kG anchor for the stern.
