FAFB - Privacy Policy

Findafishingboat (FAFB) is a trading name of Inshore Fishing Ltd. This privacy policy sets out how we use and protect any personal information that you give us when you use this website.

FAFB is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

FAFB may change this policy from time to time by updating this page. You should check this page from time to time to ensure that you are happy with any changes.

What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • company name and VAT registration number

  • daytime phone number, mobile phone number
  • address and postcode
  • your status - individual or trader/broker
  • your website address
  • preference information, for example whether or not you would like to receive text messages in addition to emails that FAFB may send you in relation to advertisements you have placed on this website.
How we collect this information and what it is used for
  1. User accounts

If you want to place advertisements on this website, we need to be able to communicate with you by email, phone and letter - you can create an account for this purpose. The information we require is:

  • First name and last name
  • Email address
  • Address first line
  • Town/City
  • Country
  • Postcode
  • Phone
  • Status (individual or trader/broker)

In order to comply with GDPR, we will remove user accounts that have not been accessed for more than two years. If you want to retain your account, just log in from time to time. Otherwise, if your account has been removed, you can simply register a new account whenever you want.

  1. Contacting an advertiser about an advertisement

If you want to contact an advertiser regarding one of their advertisements you can use the FAFB Contact Advertiser form. In order for the advertiser to be able to reply to you, you will need to supply your first name, last name, email address and your message. You can also supply your phone number if you want to, although it is not required. All information you provide in your enquiry will only be seen by FAFB and the advertiser to whom you are making the enquiry.

  1. Placing an advertisement

Placing an advertisement on this website requires a user account (see above). When you create an advertisement you can decide whether or not you want your name to be displayed, whether or not you want a contact phone number to be displayed and whether or not you want to be contacted via email (your email address is not displayed - users fill in an Ad Enquiry form which is then sent to you via email).

  1. Paying for an advertisement

If payment is required for an advertisement that you are placing on this website, you can choose to pay via PayPal or Stripe - a secure online payment processing service. Stripe is a leading payment processing company and is PCI compliant.

  1. Using the FAFB contact form

If you want to contact FAFB via the online contact form, you don’t need to create an account but we do require your name and a valid email address. You can also supply your phone number if you want to, although it is not required. All information you provide in your enquiry will only be seen by FAFB, and we will only use this to reply to you.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

Data Sharing

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties unless we have your permission or are required by law to do so. We may use your personal information to send you promotional information about third parties which we think you may find interesting if you tell us that you wish this to happen. We may also provide aggregate statistics about our customers, sales, traffic patterns and related site information to reputable third parties but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

Log Files

Our web site is hosted by UKFast. When you visit findafishingboat.com, your IP address is stored in the server log files, as this information is required for security and fraud prevention.

Database backups

FAFB account information is stored in a database, and backups are kept as a precaution against hardware or software failure. This means that information that is removed from the live database will be stored in backups for 15 days before being deleted.

Accessing/changing your personal information

If you have created an FAFB website account, you can use your MyFAFB page to:

  • review and/or edit your personal details (name, address, phone number, email etc)
  • update your preferences (newsletter, text messages)
  • manage your adverts
  • view your deals
  • view your order history
  • view enquiries about your adverts
  • manage your saved adverts
  • change your password *log out

If you no longer need your FAFB account and would like us to remove it from our system, please contact FAFB.
