Additional Information:
The Levi corsair was designed in the 60s by Sonny Levi as a dual purpose boat for racing and cruising. It's deep vee hull is considered one of the better hull designs even now, you can still buy a new one (at considerable cost!) in various forms. Normally Corsairs are sports boats on outdrives and very rare, About Time is an even rarer GRP fast fishing/workboat with twin non turbo six cylinder Fords on shafts. This is probably a unique version of the Levi Corsair.
There are two bunks forward with an opening round hatch. Aft of those a small galley to port with a sink and Origo twin burner alcohol stove and to starboard a heads compartment with sea toilet and hand basin. Both have standing headroom. The wheelhouse is open backed with helm to port and a table and seating to starboard. There is a large cockpit, trimmed with varnished wood, with plenty of space for fishing and high sides for safety. There is an electric windlass on the starboard side of the cockpit with the anchor arranged to be worked from it. There are side decks both sides allowing easy access to the foredeck. On the stern is a teak and stainless steel bathing platform. Bennett trim tabs are fitted.
She runs economically at 6-7kn and will happily cruise at 15-16kn even in poor weather.
I have owned About Time since 2009, before I bought her she had a significant refit including new decks, silencers, woodwork and plastic fuel tanks. Having been used through last winter she could do with some work. Some of the woodwork has been painted recently but some more needs doing (as does the deck) but, due to the poor weather we have been having, this has been a slow process.
She is an excellent, seaworthy boat with plenty space for fishing and accommodation for two.
Opportunities to buy a Levi Corsair are very rare, one like this is even rarer!
Lying ashore for the winter near Oban.
