A cat amongst the subs!
One of the more interesting boats at Seawork (16 - 18 June) will be one of the current listings of Solent Brokers on berth V37 - a South Catamaran complete with a submarine on the rear deck!
No need for a submarine? –?then take the opportunity to talk to Dale Nelson, the current builders for South Catamarans Ltd., who will be on board for the duration of the Show and ready to answer enquires for a new catamaran build from 10 – 13m.
“The requirement for a submarine is obviously rather unusual, but we’re happy to consider any bespoke requirement and layout so that the boat will work just as you want it to work.”?says Dale’s Mike Reynolds.
The association of Dale Nelson as new builders for the South Catamarans Ltd. designs was announced at Seawork 2014. With Dale’s 25 year record of building Nelson hulls with an outstanding reputation for a rugged build and outstanding sea keeping abilites, it was a natural progression to build catamarans that have a similar reputation.
Mike Reynolds continued, “The South Catamarans hulls were designed by Arthur Mursell who also designed the Nelson hull, so it’s not surprising that we very much share the South Catamarans philosophy that excellent abilities at sea are key to the success of any commercial operator.
“No one earns money from a boat that is forced to stay in port when the weather takes a turn for the worse!”
Carrying a submarine on the boat also demonstrates one of the great attributes of the South Catamarans hull form, “Our wider hulls offer offer just about the best possible compromise between payload carrying ability and hull speed,which in turn offers the greatest cost efficiency when load carrying enters the equation.”
