Viksund 27 Motor Sailer – "Aurora" – Major Upgrades Completed
Aurora is a ~1976 Viksund 27 – a solidly built Norwegian motor-sailer offering safe coastal cruising and beyond. She combines classic lines with extensive recent upgrades, making her an attractive and capable choice for anyone wanting to step aboard a dependable small yacht with charm. Known for being spacious whilst a very competent sailing vessels, great for the West Coast of Scotland Hebridean trips.
She has the advantage of open air cockpit (although very covered with spray deck) and also an internal helm for those days where you want to keep right out of the weather. The galley has a sink, pumped water, two burner gas hob with grill and gas fire.
She has a head (brand new and never been used in anger) with small sink and shower head.
Berths in the bow and another berth area where the main seating area is that drops to a double.

She has also had a redesign internally of the seating area bringing the seating up table up so that you are able to see clearly the views out the window when anchored. This was a Gordon McNair upgrade which he first completed on the same model and style of boat many years ago.
Aurora has had the back broken on the hard jobs – steering, rudder, tangs, engine upgrades, sails, and essential systems all renewed. She would still benefit from further cosmetic work to bring her back to “top notch” condition, but her fundamentals are strong, and the costly lifting has already been done.
She is an ideal project for someone wanting a solid, seaworthy motor-sailer that can be enjoyed immediately and improved over time.
