This particular hull is from a one-off design therefore ideally suited to pilotage work; diving/survey work. a proven displacement hull with a dependable power train using the Cummins NT855 Naturally aspirated, with a MG507 Twin Disc gear box. for possibly the most arduous of marine operations. The robustness of construction and typical pilot vessel features such as the fendering and functional MoB transom door and lifting davit, and has a hydraulic bow thruster make her ideally suited to many commercial roles. The vessel also has very good pushing capability due to its design. Currently MCA Coded to Cat. 3, she has just been released from service due to an engine issue and will therefore be sold as seen with the engine removed from the vessel but the stripped down engine is available if required.

DESIGN: This vessel was purpose built as a pilot vessel and follows a standard format with central helm position, maximised vision laterally and viewing windows within the wheelhouse superstructure for upward vision when boarding ships. The wheelhouse is placed amidships at deck level to facilitate ease of access for pilots to enter and leave the cabin area.

WHEELHOUSE: The helmsman and crew have a dedicated seating Helm, 1-2 crew, 2-3 pilots, 5 seats in total. A chart table and storage draw and central wooden door opens outwards onto the after deck. The helm console is positioned centrally to maximise peripheral vision and all operational instrumentation can be easily monitored including electronic navigational aids, engine controls and instruments. Passive lighting is provided for night operations and the vessel is fitted with appropriate internal and external lighting including deck illumination. Access to the fuel tanks, steering pumps and valve chest via a hatch in the middle of wheel house deck and access to the engine room and fore peak via a hatch STB side of the in the wheel house.

EXTERNAL: The working deck from aft of the wheel house to the bow is flush to gunwale and provides one level access forward to the boarding area, inboard safety rails are fitted and with Hadrian’s rail tracks. A forward ‘island’ rail is fitted. The aft section is a well deck area with freeing ports accessed from aft of the wheel house Port or STB sides. There is a door within the transom with a fold down ladder which drops down for ‘man-over-board’ recovery and also a lifting davit fitted. A raised central structure serves as access to fuel & water tanks at the rear end of the engine room. The vessel has a signal mast atop the wheelhouse with operational lighting.
