23ft GRP Boat Mould & Hull - Designed by Clive Jeffery & Arthur Mursell.
A rare opportunity to acquire a professionally designed 23ft mould & hull. The designer behind the early GRP South Catamarans and the original aluminium windfarm support vessels built by South Boats Special Projects Ltd.
The Cowes Champ has been designed by Clive and TT boat design primarily as a small workboat. It is 22 feet 6inches X 8 feet 5 inches over the hull, it has a full bow and semi elliptical stern with deep sheer strike all around to take large fending.
The hull is full bodied and double chine form, designed for ballast displacement over 4 tonnes. There is a deep keel with space to swing a large diameter propeller, in a shallow tunnel if necessary, with a skeg to protect the stern gear rudder.
Although intended for operation at displacement speed with good bollard pull the hull has a relatively flat run aft, therefore at lighter displacements and with suitable power it is capable of running at slightly higher speeds.
The hull design has been based on a series of similar workboats and this version is produced in GRP and laid up to Lloyd's special service craft and is also suitable for building in alloy or steel.
