These vessels are well renowned for their design and solid construction. This one was built in Bembridge, IOW, as a safety boat for a youth sailing club on the tidal Thames in London and has since been used as a personal leisure boat and general purpose workboat. It is configured as an inshore pilot boat and the layout is also suited to angling, with room for several rods in the open cockpit. There is an enclosed wheelhouse with pilot seat and single bench seat/storage and cuddy with room to fit a berth if wanted. The boat is very manouevrable with a tight turning circle and goes astern in a dead straight line. It has a deep v-hull which is good for riding heavy swells and would make a good estuary boat. It is equally suited to inshore, river, or marina.

It is not fast but very economical and happilly chugs along at about 8+ knots using very little fuel.

It is powerd by a rebuilt (2004) BMC Captain 1.8l engine with Polar marinisation, water cooled, driving a shaft via a Newage gearbox, with Morse control. I have had it for 12 years and have done less than 400 hours. Almost everything has ben renewed or updated. She needs a bit of paint and tlc but is otherwise in good nick.

It features professional fittings as seen on larger commercial boats, including stainless steel railings, hand rails and bollards, heavy duty windscreen wipers, battery isolator switch, heavy D fendering all round and diagonal ‘apostle’ fenders along the hull.
Automatic Jabsco bilge pump, nav lights, DSC radio with call sign and MMSI number, depth gauge, compass, two batteries (new in 2015), fire extinguisher, lifebuoys, warps, fenders, CQR anchor. New impeller fitted and pump serviced Feb 2016.
