After much consideration, we have decided to put the Hartley up for sale. It has not been an easy decision as she was custom built to realise my dad’s plan which was to spend his retirement fishing at his pleasure around the South Devon coastline on a smaller vessel than a beam trawler. Very sadly, he passed away and his family do not have the time to realise his dream.

The hull was purchased in 1991 and she has been lovingly restored by well-known local boat builders Dave Houcke, Bobby Cann and my dad with teak decking and a handmade galley and cabin with fully fitted mattresses. The Hartley is a fibreglass Falmouth Oyster Lugger from Martin Heards Gaffers and Luggers Yard in Mylor, Cornwall. She comes fully fitted with a two drum trawl winch (approximately half a ton and this was second hand), plotter, radio and autopilot.
Hartley would be perfect for someone who wants a little project to complete before she is ready to go fishing. Unfortunately due to her being unused for some time she is now a little weathered. She has never been used apart from the winch.
