The Fire Hawk is a Nelson 45 Pilot Boat with Twin Perkins Engines (165hp each). She has a vibrant orange hull and navy keel.

At a length of 13.44 metres and 4 metres wide she is a comfortable twin propellor pilot boat, with a top speed of 12 knots. She has a daft of 1.6 metres.
She comes with:

• SIMRAD twin touch screen navigation screens
• SIMRAD LED instrument and autopilot.
• She has Sonar/Radar and IAS. V
• HF Radios and handheld.
• Davit arms for a tender.
• Electric winch for the anchor and chain locker.
• Invertor and solar panels on roof and top up battery packs.

Her first maiden voyage was in 1975 where she worked as a Fire Boat on the London Thames for over four and half decades, she had a sister ship called the London Phoenix. She was one of hundreds of boats to take part in the late Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee flotilla in 2012, and was acquired by the current owner in March 2021, but circumstances have meant a relocation away from Falmouth.

The Fire Hawk can accommodate up to ten passengers and two crew. She has a head, a breakout area with seating for six people in the galley, and a fridge. She also has plenty of space on both the front and rear deck.
As a pilot boat she is the ideal vessel for training purposes, whether it’s a day skipper course or yacht master’s course. She is also the perfect boat for open sea voyages, due to the design of her hull and her ability to go 60 miles offshore.

There are sidewalks with rail and harnesses and two fishing rod holders on port and starboard side.

Previously coded she has the following:

• Twelve Aquavel MK2 Solas Lifejackets with strobe lights
• Perry Buoy life rings (x3),
• Red hand and parachute air flares (8 in total)
• Two orange smoke cans.
• Dry Foam (x2)
• AFFF Foam (x1)
• There is also a fixed Flamark Mabo Auto extinguisher situated in the engine room which activates and extinguishes fire when the solution reaches the temperature of 84°C.
