Built 1981 as safety boat for Aberdovey Outward Bound College. Sponsored or paid for by Sir Billy Butlin of Butlins Holidays. Hence the name. Present owner since 1999. Light use only for sea angling and coastal cruising. Various improvements and upgrades throughout my ownership, including deck replacement, extended wheelhouse, rebuilt gearbox, hydraulic steering, replacement keelbands, fendering, repaint Spring 2026. New water pump and hoses plus cooling system stripped and flushed 2024. Also injectors and metering unit stripped and rebuilt to specification. All records and bills available. Manual and automatic bilge pumps, various lifejackets and fire extinguishers. Insurance survey done Spring 2025. Only a few recommendations, all implemented. Copy available for inspection.
Mitchells have a reputation for seaworthiness, and with the original small engine this one is very economical to run. I believe the boat to be mechanically and structurally sound, and the only reason for selling is the increasing age of the owner.
