The river and Canal barge MMS Off-Roader which was extensively converted and upgraded last year is for sale due to the cancellation of a proposed contract on the Humber.

The 60 x 6 mtr barge was originally built as a petroleum carrier by the Yorkshire Dry Dock Co. for its own account of vessels Whitaker Tankers.

The barge has been extensively transformed by MMS Ship Repair & Dry Dock Co Ltd into a dry cargo vessel able to carry upto 500 tonnes in weight of cargo or 350 M3 (approx.).

This could be utilised to support aquaculture and fish farming.

Every part of the barge has been either replaced, upgraded or overhauled with the best materials and practices including;

• Installation of heavy plate tank top and side shedding plates.
• Full re-wire.
• Overhaul of main engine
• Overhaul of both generators
• Overhaul of bow thruster
• Full accommodation refit to a fabulously high specification
• Full wheelhouse modernisation upgrade
• Overhaul of anchor windlass
• Overhaul of propeller shaft and rudder
• Overhaul & replacement of all pipe work, plumbing, valves
• Full paint application

The vessel is run up 3 times per week by its dedicated skipper and is ready to work with immediate effect.
