The MMS Humber Engineer is a 22 metre workboat re-built by MMS within our own shipyard facility. The vessel is constructed to the MCA workboat code of practice and can operate up to category 3 regulations (20 nautical miles from a safe haven).

Capable of being utilized to carry out a number of different tasks such as; Dive support, survey operations, cable & pipe repair, dock cleaning, maintenance & repair, dredging, project mobilization, equipment transport, salvage operations, marine civil engineering support and any other general workboat duties as required. This vessel is ideally suited to carry out work within sheltered waters.

This vessel comes equipped with a full complement of deck machinery & safety equipment to ensure that any task is fulfilled to the highest standard.

The vessel is equipped with the following:

• Crane With Winch (SWL at 2.5m – 3700kg / SWL at 7.0m – 800kg)
• Deck Winch (SWL – 4000KG)
• Spud Leg Capabilities
• Moonpool
• Large wooden boarded working deck
• Man overboard recovery davit with manual winch

The MMS Humber Engineer was previously known by the name 'Tyne Countess'.
In 1981 the Tyne Countess was built at Robb Caledon shipbuilders Ltd. The vessel was registered and based in Newcastle upon Tyne where it served as a passenger ferry. She had a length of 19.2 metres and a 5.5 metre beam.
In 2017 MMS purchased the vessel from an owner in Glasgow. The vessel was brought to Hull where we converted the vessel to a multi-purpose workboat within our own shipyard. The length was increased to 22 metres and the breadth to 7.0 metres.
