Hello,

My name is Connor and It’s always been a bit of a dream of mine to work at sea and really want a career that I will enjoy for the rest of working life.

Any advice would be deeply appreciated or if anyone would have an opportunity for a new starter would be amazing.

As for my previous experience, I served in forces for 8 years in the royal engineers. When I left, I continued my trade as a welder/fabricator working in various sectors including marine. I’m fast at picking up new skills as I’ve had to be in my past careers and not phased of being outside in the elements, I actually quite miss working outside.

It’s not quite the same but I’ve spent some time on the water as during my time in the forces. I was a member of the sailing sport team and got my RYA competent crew qualification. I understand though it’s very different to commercial work, but I wanted to express the enjoyment that I like being out on the water.
