Vessel powered by a 6-cylinder Perkins 1006-6 inboard diesel engine. This 130hp work horse has completed 2000+ serviced hours and will run all day at 10 knots. Access is very easy as the whole of the wheelhouse floor lifts out. Accesses to the gearbox, shaft and fuel systems is equally easy thanks to a series of deck hatches.

Hydraulics:

Central helm with hydraulic steering. Traditional spoked wooden wheel. Reduction gearbox driving a stainless-steel shaft with flexible coupling. 3-Bladed bronze propeller.

Electronics:

12/24V onboard systems with 24V engine start and 12V domestic. Bank of 6 batteries recharged via engine alternator. There is a shore power hook up allowing a 240 portable charger to be used.

Accommodation

Large Wheelhouse entered via a lockable, marine ply door. Wheelhouse has galley worktop with built in sink to the rear. Gas fuelled oven with 2-burner hob and grill.

Excellent visibility with three forward facing windows, two side windows port and starboard and a further two windows aft looking into the cockpit.

Forward of the wheelhouse is a large horseshoe seating area with a table. The table goes down to make a large berth. There is a heads compartment on the starboard side with a marine toilet. Flat screen TV and electric fire when plugged into shore power.


Construction

Heavy lay-up GRP hull with semi displacement underwater profile. Central keel with skeg and counter mounted steel rudder with prop protector. Flared bow minimises airborne water when in a seaway.

White GRP topsides with heavy duty rubber D-Fender. Hull to deck join finished in rubber extrusion. Deep cockpit with sheathed marine ply sole. Series of three access hatches with raised lip to minimise water ingress. GRP constructed storage boxes at rear corners and outside wheelhouse.

Stainless steel bow rail offering protection when moving forward. Stainless steel grab rails on wheelhouse roof and cockpit coamings. Perspex and solid glass timber framed windows. Stainless steel lighting and radar arch on wheelhouse roof.

FYI

End of Aug beginning of September this year 2023 Jay Jay was lifted out of the water professionally cleaned and an anti fouling coat was added to her fine Hull along with renewed anodes.

She can be viewed on appointment she is sitting on a hard stand at the Royal Quays Marina North Shields.
